The first piano piece I could play was "A Whiter Shade of Pale" by Procol Harum and so it went on, mainly self-taught and oriented towards the music that inspired me. I was particularly fond of polyphonic singing. And so I had my first public performances with a three-part singing combo with acoustic guitar accompaniment.
During my architecture studies in Karlsruhe, I founded the rock jazz formation "Dr. Stein", in which I played the saxophone and which also performed at larger open-air festivals. We played our own pieces in the style of Weather-Report and similar greats and most of it came from my pen, pure instrumental music.
And so there were always periods of musical inspiration and compositional activity after that. However, I was never a songwriter because I couldn't think of any lyrics and I didn't know what I wanted to tell or sing about at all. Bach probably didn't know what his Goldberg Variations were about either. It's just music.
This only changed when I took over a small holiday resort in Fuerteventura, Canary Islands, in 2016, where I have also been staying mainly since then. To motivate myself to learn Spanish, I started writing song lyrics in Spanish and soon I was in contact with a professional recording studio in the immediate vicinity.
That's how some songs came into being, which you can buy and download here in the shop.
